ARCHITECTURE - BUILDINGS

Chan Krieger Sieniewicz has received recognition for our diverse portfolio of buildings, including: Beth Israel Hospital's Shapiro Clinical Center in Boston (8 awards); Nicholas Athletic Center at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge (5 awards); and two additions to The Discovery Museum in Bridgeport (4 awards). A recent award for our design of the City Hall Plaza Community Arcade is the first phase of several improvements to redesign Boston's premier civic square and improve connections between the inner city and the Boston Harbor.

We have extensive experience in the renovation of existing properties. In particular, we have unique experience in upgrading, improving, and adding to several buildings by notable 20th century architects, including: Walter Gropius and The Architects Collaborative, John Johansen, Jose Luis Sert, Earl Flansburgh, Kallmann McKinnell & Wood, John Andrews, Hugh Stubbins, and Harrison & Abramovitz.

As a sensual and expressive art, architecture invaribly achieves a measure of autonomy from the thought process and values that shape it. Once realized, a work of architecture reflects the aspirations of its patrons and builders. It does so by being legible, durable, functional, and imbued with unexpected delights — qualities we strive for in our work.
